Hi,
Dockers, a man's casual pants brand, is trying to bring khaki back. Many young men consider Dockers to be an old school look. So Dockers is trying to bring them back by making them in different colors and fits.
The campaign will start to advertise on Tuesday through radio, print, poster, and online: even on the Super Bowl comercials.
I think it's good to make different fits for pants. Nowadays people wear different styles of Jeans/pants. Making them in different colors will also help the company a lot. Despite the multiple competitive brands, Dockers think they can pull this off.

You Tube has a new tool coming out!
Hi,
You Tube has a new method for managing video submissions from readers called Tou Tube Direct.
You Tube Direct will include the Huffington Post and the San Fransisco Chronicle.
The new feauture will make the You Tube users easier to submit clips that news media companies can choose to highlight.
The new tool that is planned on coming out on Tuesday could become a conflict or a challanger for with other citizen journalism cites like iReport on CNN, where eyewitnesses can upload videos of news events as well as their own opinions.
I like the new idea that You Tube is introducing. As far as I know most people use You Tube to check out many different videos. I think that the new tool will be a success.

Hi,
Sony wants to start make its animated hit “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” available to consumers directly through Internet-enabled televisions and Blu-ray players before the movie is released on DVD.
The economy crisis is causing people not to buy DVDs, which puts many store retails on a decline in sales. So Sony wants to help out in the home entertainment.
The chief executive of Sony, Howard Stringer, also said that “We don’t need a war with Wal-Mart or any other organization, and I don’t think they’re hostile to this." "It will make televisions more valuable, and that’s a good thing.”
I think it's good that Sony is trying to try to do things to help the us out. If the movie would have been something that I would have been really interested in I would have purchased it before the realease of the DVD. Hopefully it will work out for Sony.

Disney theme park is expanding,
Shanghai, China will soon be joining other cities like Paris, Tokyo, Orlando, and L.A. with a Disney theme park.
Even though the new theme park in China will not be as big as the other ones, it will satisfy many Chinese residents.
The new park will have hotels, shopping areas and a Magic Kingdom style theme park.
The companies goal is to create an engine that will drive demand among China's 1.3 billion residents for other Disney products, from video games to Broadway-style shows to DVDs.
The total cost, not including the hotels and resort infrastructure, will be $3.5 billion, making it one of the largest foreign investments in China.
I think it's great that the Disney theme parks are expanding. I have been to the one in Paris, Tokyo and now Florida. Every one knows the Disney theme parks, and for China to have one in the future will make many residents happy. I met a Chinese foreign exchange students two years ago and I remember her telling me that her friends back home are jealous that she is able to go to Disneyland. She was very excited and loved the park. Now her friends back home will be able to go to the park as well, without the big expense (plane tickets to either one of the Disney cities).

Christmas is already in stores.
Even though Halloween has no yet come, retail stores are already stocking up their shelves with Christmas decorations and gifts.
The stores are trying to stimulate holiday feeling ahead of schedule because of the economy crisis. Retailers are anxious of about "the parismonious moods among shoppers."
The National Retail Federation predicts that Christmas sales will decline 1 percent from last years. But it's not as bad as the sales in 2007 when the retail revenue fell 3.4 percent. So stores are trying to make this years Christmas as fun as possible by stocking the shelves early.
Also to make more sales, stores like Macys are trying to do donations like the "Make a Wish" Foundation, or the mailbox that is used for letters that can be droped of for Santa.
There are also more Christmas ads coming out. For example, one ad proclaims "Merry Christmas to all, and to all great prices.
I think it's great that stores are trying to get shoppers into the Christmas moods and are trying to help their sales. But stocking shelves before we even hit Halloween is a little to early in my case. I'm still decorating my house with scary Halloween things and I'm starting to prepare for a great Halloween night but having these Christmas decorations aroun stores sets my mood a little off.

Actors smoking in movies
Hi,
A volunteer arm of the powerful health organization that focuses on family issues, released on friday its "scorecard for the depiction of smoking in mass-appeal summer movies."
The new movie that came out this summer called Land of the Lost with Will Ferrell shows the actor smoking a pipe 18 times. The Medical Association Alliance believes that it results in about 124 million tobacco impressions. Because the movie is PG13 rated, Kids who are a huge fan of Ferrell or the movie might consider that it is "cool" to smoke.
What is sad is when movie studios can promote smoking to youth, but public health advocates cannot find a billboard in the whole city of Los Angeles that will run an ad to alert the public about the problem.
I have to agree. Kids nowadays would probably think that it's something they have to do to when their idols are doing something (Ex. smoking). I don't think putting such problem on a billboard will prevent people from smoking. Kids probably don't even read any of the billboards. They are as I already said more interested in what their idols are doing.
