Hi,
You Tube has a new method for managing video submissions from readers called Tou Tube Direct.
You Tube Direct will include the Huffington Post and the San Fransisco Chronicle.
The new feauture will make the You Tube users easier to submit clips that news media companies can choose to highlight.
The new tool that is planned on coming out on Tuesday could become a conflict or a challanger for with other citizen journalism cites like iReport on CNN, where eyewitnesses can upload videos of news events as well as their own opinions.
I like the new idea that You Tube is introducing. As far as I know most people use You Tube to check out many different videos. I think that the new tool will be a success.

This sounds like a great idea to me. Youtube has become famous for viral videos, and less for news videos. Interesting topic and a great post.
ReplyDeleteI did this story as well and I think it's a positive thing to allow people to have a 'voice' when it comes to independent journalism. I think it will draw more people to journalism also.
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting. Hopefully people will use it for real news stories and not some of the stupid things you see on YouTube. But this does sound like a good idea, giving people the ability to focus on stories and news interesting to us, rather than big news corporations deciding.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea, youtube is not usually used for news stories, and now maybe the millions and millions of users will be more informed and have news more at their finger tips. I also believe that more people will want to get news from a sight they love for other things such as entertainment!
